Latvian electricity tariffs outlook
Due to growing solar generation in Europe, cost of electric energy reduces significantly during the daylight hour what leads to significant tariff disbalance. Below example of hourly tariffs curves for Latvia (working days and weekends) confirms the demand for time shifting of power supply to the grid.
Average hourly tariffs fluctuation (for working days and weekends)
Based on NordPool everyday statistics, hourly electricity tariffs in Latvia vary from 10-20 Euros per MWh (sometimes reaching even negative values) up to 250-300 Euros per MWh
The lowest values take place in the middle of the day, when the sun is most abundant and solar generation shows its peak values, while the highest tariff is charged in the evening peak consumption hours between 21 and 23 hours, reflecting maximum disbalance between generation and consumption
